“Building a Better Prepared and More Resilient Community” is an AmeriCorps Team project to dramatically increase the disaster and emergency preparedness of communities in Western Washington.
Thirty AmeriCorps members will serve in American Red Cross offices in multiple counties across the state. Service responsibilities include conducting preparedness trainings to youth, families, neighborhoods, nonprofits and other organizations; assisting with emergency response activities of the Red Cross; recruiting, training and managing volunteers; communicating preparedness messages through traditional and social media; supporting the Red Cross Language Bank and other services to immigrant populations; and supporting Red Cross International Services.
