AmeriCorps Week, March 4-11, 2017, is a time to salute AmeriCorps members and alums for their service, thank AmeriCorps community partners, and communicate AmeriCorps impact on communities and on the lives of those who serve.

In recognition, Serve Washington, the commission for national and community service, is hosting AmeriCorps Day on Thursday, March 9, 10:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m., at the Capitol on the third floor mezzanine.  Commission staff, program staff, and AmeriCorps members will showcase AmeriCorps programs and be available to discuss the impact national service is having in communities across Washington State and in the lives of the AmeriCorps members who are serving.

The following AmeriCorps programs will be represented:

  • College Access Now
  • College Success Foundation
  • Community Youth Services – AmeriCorps - Youth In Service
  • EarthCorps
  • Harvest Against Hunger VISTA
  • Life Works – Cowlitz AmeriCorps Network
  • Serve Washington – State Service Commission
  • WA State Dept. of Veterans Affairs – WA Vet Corps
  • WA State Employment Security Dept. – WA Reading Corps
  • WA State Employment Security Dept. – WA Service Corps

This is also a great opportunity to inquire about joining AmeriCorps if you know of a young adult approaching high school graduation or has already graduated and is trying to figure out what to do next – come by and pick up information or send them to the State Capitol on March 9!
