College Access Now - AmeriCorps State Program

Elevating communities, one degree at a time

College Access Now (CAN) empowers students from low-income families to overcome the barriers to higher education that can make a college degree seem like an impossible aspiration. We work to level the playing field, guided by the belief that college can be a reality for every student with access to the right resources and support.

Grounded in best practices and measurable results, we partner with schools, colleges, and communities to expand what’s possible for our students. The CAN team develops meaningful relationships with students, breaking down the journey into manageable steps to ensure that they have the tools they need to succeed—as well as the enthusiasm and resilience required to tackle every challenge. We offer consistent support from high school until they throw that cap in the air, college degree in hand.

After graduation, our students return as community leaders, enriching lives, inspiring communities, promoting equity, and breaking the cycle of poverty for generations to come. The impact of a college degree goes far beyond the individual student, transforming possibilities for friends, families, and all of us who benefit from a more informed and empowered society.
