Regional Service Corps

The mission of the Regional Service Corps - AmeriCorps is two-fold: 1) meet community needs today, and 2) advance community leadership for tomorrow. RSC manages a network of projects that primarily address literacy and academic success, youth development, and public safety. The program has a strong leadership enhancement component, with training that is high caliber, team-based, and largely experiential; many graduates say that it alone is worth the whole ten-month commitment. Beyond training, members are encouraged to develop educational presentations and signature projects that enlighten and engage others. When not serving at their host sites, RSC members participate in various public projects that address diverse needs. The program seeks applications from those who are 18 to 81 and have a strong desire to make a difference in the lives of others today while furthering their knowledge, skills, commitment, and ability to lead in the future.
