Serve Washington to swear in hundreds of AmeriCorps members

AmeriCorps members from across the state will gather Friday, Oct. 25, in Seattle at Serve Washington’s annual swearing-in ceremony to celebrate the beginning of a year of service. More than 500 new or returning AmeriCorps members will be sworn in at the event, scheduled for 10 a.m.–noon at Seattle Center’s Fisher Pavilion.

AmeriCorps to swear in hundreds of new members

OLYMPIA, Wash. – Serve Washington on Friday will host a celebration for hundreds of local AmeriCorps members as they commit to a year’s service in communities throughout Washington. Serving at more than 900 locations throughout the state, AmeriCorps members tutor and mentor children, support veterans and military families, provide health services, restore the environment, respond to disasters, increase economic opportunity, and recruit and manage volunteers.
