United Way of King County

United Way believes that when low-income people have access to emergency financial assistance, income supports, and financial products designed to build savings and credit they will increase their financial and housing stability. The United Way of King County AmeriCorps program meets people where they are at to provide wrap-around service delivery. AmeriCorps members respond to individual needs by coaching clients to find their own unique solutions to immediate housing and financial crisis. As resource experts, the team influences system change by launching college food pantries, open labs for financial aid and tax prep assistance, financial literacy workshops, and programs for formerly incarcerated students. This program will accelerate the impact of United Way’s work to lift 50,000 people out of poverty and reduce the unsheltered population by 50%.
