United Way of King County - Washington Service Corps

United Way is committed to ending childhood hunger by helping low-income children access nutritious food where they live, learn, and play. Food insecurity can impair academic development during the school year and throughout summer months. As part of United Way’s Hunger Relief Now program, the Hunger Free Schools AmeriCorps team serves in schools across King County, promoting or establishing during- and afterschool meals programs, and providing nutrition education to students and parents during school and through afterschool events.
