College Access Corps is an AmeriCorps grant administered by Washington Campus Compact and sub-granted to member campuses throughout the state of Washington. The College Access Corps grant allows selected member campuses to hire an AmeriCorps member to help coordinate college access programs in their local communities. College Access Corps members recruit and train college students from their campus to act as college access coaches to economically disadvantaged youth in schools, community agencies, and to student groups that have a student population that is at least 50% eligible for the federally-funded free/reduced lunch program.
College Access Corps members serve throughout the state of Washington on college/university campuses, at local schools, and in community-based nonprofit organizations. Service responsibilities include implementing various college access activities for economically disadvantaged K-12 youth. Members also recruit volunteers for community service events and National Days of Service.
