College Access Now - AmeriCorps State Program

Empowering communities, one degree at a time

College Access Now (CAN) helps students from low-income families access, enroll and graduate from college. Grounded in best practices and measurable results, CAN partners with high schools and communities to expand what’s possible. Our coaches develop meaningful relationships with students, transforming their journey into manageable steps to ensure they have the tools they need to succeed. We offer support from high school through college graduation—until students return home as leaders, inspiring their communities for generations to come.

Since CAN’s inception, 90% of CAN students are the first in their family to attend college, 95% are students of color, and 63% speak a language other than English at home. Many of our students are immigrants, some undocumented, and all have a compelling story. Our team reflects the communities we serve. The impact of a college degree goes beyond the individual student, benefiting us all with a more informed and empowered society.

A degree changes everything.
