College Possible Washington - high school and college coaches

Empowering communities, one degree at a time

The mission of College Possible Washington, formerly known as College Access Now (CAN), makes college admission and success possible for students from low-income backgrounds, students of color and first-generation college students through an intensive curriculum of coaching and support.

Our program provides support to students from junior year in high school through college graduation, in areas such as the college search and application process, test prep, financial aid completion, college acceptance and enrollment and high school-to-college transition coaching. In college, our coaches support our students navigate college, foster a sense of belonging on campus and complete tasks to persist to graduation. College Possible partners with high schools, colleges and community partners to serve the needs of students.

Our program model relies on the spirit of national service to change the world. Our AmeriCorps members, themselves recent college graduates, serve as near-peer coaches. These idealistic and dedicated coaches offer guidance, mentoring and support to students from low-incomes backgrounds as they navigate the often-complex world of college preparation and persistence. We believe that by empowering students to access higher education and thrive through college in the face of broader systemic challenges, we can truly change the world.
