Pierce County Parks and Recreation - Washington Service Corps

A Partner of the Washington Service Corps

The Pierce County Natural Lands project focuses on the habitat restoration of natural areas in the Pierce County area.  AmeriCorps members focus on removal of invasive species, planting native plants, and monitoring restoration sites.  Additionally, they work together to decommission user-built trails and help construct and maintain designated trails to provide positive public access to natural areas in the county.  Educational projects are conducted throughout the program year to connect the public to Pierce County natural areas and to learn about the importance of respecting nature and taking care of it.
