Program Details
Members of the Senior Companion Program (SCP) are low-income people 55 years of age and over.
- They serve 15-40 hours per week helping an average of two to four adult clients live independently in their own homes.
- Service activities can include helping with shopping and paying bills, providing respite to care givers, arranging for support services, providing advocacy for elderly patients, and more.
- Senior Companions receive pre-service orientation, training from the organization where they serve, supplemental insurance while on duty, and may qualify to earn a tax-free hourly stipend.
