CERT Program Manager Training

OLYMPIA--Serve Washington's Citizen Corps and FEMA Region 10 partners are offering a CERT Program Manager Course in Sequim Feb 22-24. 

The Program Manager Course is required to become a CERT program instructor. Instructors facilitate CERT courses and training exercises.

CERT stands for Community Emergency Response Teams. CERT members are all volunteers. They receive education in disaster preparedness for disasters that may impact their area. They also learn basic disaster response skills such as fire safety, light search and rescue, team organization and basic disaster medical operations.

The target audiences for Train the Trainer are program trainers or coordinators with CERT knowledge who are committed to serving as instructors in their communities and are willing to be included in a statewide instructor database. NOTE: All Train the Trainer courses are in-person and require wearing of facial masks to attend.

Other Requirements:

Referral from CERT sponsoring agency
Completion of CERT training (online or in-person)
Endorsement by a state CERT coordinating agency
Endorsement by local program manager
