Description
This 3-day in-person course will provide participants with the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to instruct the Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) training that prepares citizens to assist in emergency response activities in their local community. This class is a requirement to be a recognized CERT Instructor in Washington. See https://www.ready.gov/cert for Washington CERT Standards.

Course Objectives
Target Audience
Program trainers or coordinators knowledgeable of the CERT program, committed to serving as instructors in their community and willing to be included in a statewide instructor database.
Prerequisites
1. A referral letter from a CERT-sponsoring agency, typically a local, regional, or state government agency.
2. Either IS-317 OR CERT Basic Training:
If you are not a first responder, please complete the IS 317 CERT Basic Training, it is required.
For current first responders, please submit a copy of your CERT Basic Training or IS 317 Introduction to CERT Certificate.
3. Must have a FEMA Student ID number (https://cdp.dhs.gov/femasid).
