Overview
What this job is about:
As the senior program officer, you will lead a team in supporting AmeriCorps programs across the state to positively impact the lives of Washingtonians through service. Your efforts will model a balanced approach to partnering with the community and advising, directing, and addressing compliance issues, with a focus on continued learning and the strengthening of our work together. You will develop and initiate Serve Washington (ServeWA) AmeriCorps program policy and compliance plans, while overseeing the quality and completion of our grant monitoring activities for the AmeriCorps team. As the supervisor of the AmeriCorps team, you will manage timelines and guide fiscal and program responsibilities.
Note: Approximately 30% of this job is traveling, both in Washington state and network conferences or meetings outside of the state, all of which may include overnight stays.

Desired Qualifications
Experience interpreting federal and state regulations, developing actions to relay this knowledge to key stakeholders and designing, implementing, and enforcing compliance oversight policies, processes and procedures.
Previous management experience in national service (AmeriCorps).
Experience working diplomatically and skillfully with a variety of stakeholders, including state and local elected officials, commission board members, program directors and administrators, AmeriCorps members and community volunteers.
Experience in system and program development. Experience implementing solutions by defining the issue, identifying solutions and engaging partners in a collaborative action that achieves results.
Condition of Employment:
On Aug. 9, 2021, Gov. Jay Inslee issued Proclamation 21-14 (Download PDF reader) that requires all employees of executive cabinet agencies to be fully vaccinated with the COVID-19 vaccine before their employment. Pursuant to this mandate, you will be required to provide proof of vaccination as a part of the hiring process. Your vaccination status will be verified during our New Employee Onboarding process.
