Mt. Adams Institute - VetsWork Environment and Public Lands Stewards

Mt. Adams Institute is a National Direct providing two programs in Washington State designed to improve public lands while supporting career development in natural resources/public lands management.  VetsWork Environment members are U.S. military veterans serving at federal, state and local agencies or with environmentally focused non-profits.  Positions include a wide range of supports for the management of our natural resources including volunteer and community outreach, range management, archaeology, developed recreation, wilderness rangers, special use permits and many more. A specifically designed career development curriculum directly supports the military-to-civilian workforce transition for our members.  The Public Lands Stewards program is not veteran specific and is open to applicants 21-30 years of age.  This 25 week program supports specific summer seasonal needs of our natural resource partners placing members on trail crews, invasive species removal and restoration projects and conservation education programs.
