Serve Washington to offer AmeriCorps grant application workshops

Need some assistance with your AmeriCorps grant application? These workshops can help!

OLYMPIA--Applying for a grant to support an AmeriCorps program may seem intimidating and confusing. But it doesn’t have to be! Serve Washington is teaming up with a team of grant experts for a series of free, online workshops on how to make your next AmeriCorps grant application the best it can be!

Whether your organization has received grant funding before or you’re new to the game, these workshops will explore the ins and outs of AmeriCorps grants to help you prepare your next application!

The workshops take place on Zoom on following dates. All times are Pacific Time Zone. There is no need to register for the sessions, just click on the workshop link at the scheduled time.

Feb. 5 - Session 1: AmeriCorps grants and budget development 101, 11 a.m. to 12:15 p.m.
Feb. 19 - Session 2: Communicating your program design (including theory of change and logic model), 11 a.m. to 12:15 p.m.
March 5 - Session 3: Performance measures and evaluations,11:15 a.m. to 12:15 p.m.
March 19 –Session 4: Budget nuts and bolts, 11 a.m. to 12: 15 p.m.

Things to know before attending:

Note for organizations interested in becoming new applicants: It’s highly-recommended to explore whether AmeriCorps would be a proper fit for your organization before attending any AmeriCorps grant session.

There is a course that can help you determine if AmeriCorps is a good fit for your organization. When you enroll in the course, make sure to enter the code WASUB23 at checkout to get the fee waiver.

Optional one-on-one assistance: Workshop attendees are also invited to attend one-on-one technical assistance calls. These sessions are for individuals who have specific questions about their AmeriCorps program grant application(s) for our trainers. The number of one-on-one sessions is limited. It's expected that any organization that has not received AmeriCorps funding before comlpete the online course before signing up for a one-on-one consultation.

We ask those interested to sign up for one session initially. If additional assistance is needed, your trainer will provide you with the recommendation and next steps after the intial consultation.
