Serve Washington Virtually Swears in AmeriCorps Members for Program Year 2020-21

Serve Washington holds first virtual swearing-in ceremony for new and returning AmeriCorps members to kick off their year of service.

To help us celebrate over 1,500 AmeriCorps members serving our state this year, inspiring videos were provided by:

We are also pleased to share the AmeriCorps Alumni Panel video that was prepared in conjunction with the special events of October 30, 2020. The panel was organized by AmeriCorps alums who served on an Advisory Committee to Serve Washington for the planning of the 2020 Virtual Swearing-In Ceremony. In organizing the panel, they recruited additional alums as panelists.  Their bios can be seen here.

During their gathering on Zoom, the panelists responded to questions about how COVID-19 impacted their service position and how they adapted to changes they faced.  They reflect on skills they gained in the transition, and their career goals going forward. The panelists offer their recommendations to current members on how to make the most of their service year, and wrap up with a quote that best describes their service in AmeriCorps.
