Spokane Listening Session to Discuss Service and Volunteerism

Date:
Mar 28 2019 - 2:30pm to 4:30pm
Location:
Spokane Public Library, Room 1A: 906 W Main Ave, Spokane, WA 99201

Join Serve Washington and other state and local leaders for an important discussion about volunteerism and national service. These discussions are taking place around the state.

Serve Washington, the state commission on national service and volunteerism, is seeking input in the development of their 2019-2021 State Service Plan. This plan will guide strategies for growing and supporting national service and volunteer efforts in the state. Currently, Serve Washington distributes $15,829,014 million dollars of federal funds to communities across Washington through AmeriCorps programming and recently received a small volunteer generation grant to support community volunteerism efforts.

At this meeting you will learn about Serve Washington and have an opportunity to provide input into strategies that will support future efforts in the following areas:

  • How might Serve Washington become an even stronger catalyst to inspire service as a strategy to meet local community and organizational needs?
  • How do we build a culture and climate of service?
  • How might we work together to strengthen connections within the volunteer ecosystem to leverage resources and grow impact?
  • How do we develop more quality national service and volunteer experiences and programs?

Serve Washington is hosting a small group listening session to gather feedback from key regional stakeholders. We also invite you to forward this invitation to any others who you believe would like to participate.
