Seattle Mariners Recognize Governor's Volunteer Service Award Honorees on Field at Safeco Field (Video)

On April 16 at Salute to Volunteers Night, the Seattle Mariners recognized honorees of the 2018 Governor's Volunteer Service Awards during a pre-game on-field ceremony where the youngest honoree, nine year old Jayden Nelson threw the ceremonial first pitch. Watch the ceremony video.

AmeriCorps to swear in hundreds of new members

OLYMPIA, Wash. – Serve Washington on Friday will host a celebration for hundreds of local AmeriCorps members as they commit to a year’s service in communities throughout Washington. Serving at more than 900 locations throughout the state, AmeriCorps members tutor and mentor children, support veterans and military families, provide health services, restore the environment, respond to disasters, increase economic opportunity, and recruit and manage volunteers.
