United Way of Benton & Franklin Counties

United Way of Benton & Franklin Counties manages an AmeriCorps program providing mentoring to chronically absent students in local middle schools. Our AmeriCorps members work with students one-on-one and in groups to provide behavioral, social-emotional, and academic support throughout the school day. In addition to direct support, each AmeriCorps member in our program manages a team of community volunteers. Each volunteer mentors a chronically absent student once a week during the student’s lunchtime. Through this program, our AmeriCorps members provide the support needed to help chronically absent students attend school every day.
