United Way of King County Free Tax & Financial Empowerment

UWKC is fighting poverty in King County with free tax preparation services, ensuring hard-working people get every credit and dollar they deserve.

Our AmeriCorps membersprovide tax advice so people can make the most of tax credits. We know tax credits and refunds can put people on a path towards financial stability. When tax time comes around, people can face race, age, income, language and/or or disability barriers when trying to access tax support. The Free Tax Preparation Program combats these barriers.

At UWKC we connect IRS-certified volunteers to community members offering services in multiple languages to help people keep more of what they’ve earned. Volunteers help people connect to public benefits, financial counseling, and other services as needed.
