Inslee, Murray, Jayapal to be recognized for support of national service

Washington officials among select bipartisan group of national service champions being honored

 

OLYMPIA, Wash. Recognizing the exceptional support and commitment of Washington state officials for national service, Voices for National Service will honor Gov. Jay Inslee, U.S. Sen. Patty Murray and U.S. Rep. Pramila Jayapal at the 15th Annual Friends of National Service Awards in Washington, D.C., on Feb. 13, 2018.

 

Gov. Jay Inslee announces $16.3 million in AmeriCorps funds awarded to Washington

Gov. Jay Inslee today announced that Washington has been awarded $16.3 million in AmeriCorps funding from the Corporation for National and Community Service.

These grants will support 1,474 AmeriCorps members across the state serving with 19 organizations. AmeriCorps members will tackle critical challenges in Washington, including helping in education settings, preserving the environment, assisting with disaster response and recovery, and supporting veterans and military families.

Gov. Jay Inslee awarded 2016 State Service Leadership Award

Gov. Jay Inslee has been awarded the 2016 State Service Leadership Award, one of several presented by America’s Service Commissions Innovation and Leadership awards. The award recognizes state and local leaders who champion the role of national service and volunteering in their community.
