Since 2001, Serve Washington has partnered with the University of Washington’s Daniel J. Evans School of Public Policy and Governance to host the Leadership Forum for National Service Executives, a unique course designed specifically for national service staff.
This innovative course attracts commission staff, AmeriCorps state and national direct program staff, state office staff, VISTA program staff, and Senior Corps directors, among others, who want to deepen their understanding of the issues they face and learn how to find creative, workable solutions. Participants engage in discussions that incorporate knowledge from lectures, reading, and case studies, which come directly from national service programs. Participants also get hands on experience through a group project using a real world problem.
The value of this course is that it's:
The Evans School of Public Policy and Governance consistently ranks in the top 10 graduate schools in the country for public policy. Located on the Seattle campus of the UW, the Evans School has been training and supporting public servants and others in the nonprofit sector with world-class faculty members and a comprehensive, cross-disciplinary curriculum for more than 55 years.
